Health and Safety Policy

At Le Puppery, the health and safety of your pet are our top priorities. To ensure a safe and pleasant grooming experience for all pets, we have established the following Health and Safety Policy:

Proof of Up-to-Date Vaccinations

Vaccination Requirements

  - All pets must be up to date on their vaccinations before receiving grooming services. Required vaccinations include, but are not limited to, rabies, distemper, and parvovirus.

  - Proof of vaccination must be provided at the time of your first appointment and updated as needed.

- These are requirements made by the state. As a business operating within Texas law, this is non-negotiable. Visit https://www.dshs.texas.gov/rabies for more information.

  - Acceptable documentation includes vaccination records from a licensed veterinarian. Please bring a copy of these records to your appointment or email them to us in advance.

Handling Health Conditions

Disclosure of Health Conditions

  - Owners must inform Le Puppery of any known health conditions or medical issues that may affect the grooming process. This includes, but is not limited to, skin conditions, allergies, heart conditions, or any recent surgeries.

Special Handling

  - Our groomers are trained to handle pets with special needs and will take necessary precautions to ensure their comfort and safety. However, certain health conditions may require a vet’s clearance before grooming.

Emergency Situations

  - In the event of a medical emergency during grooming, we will immediately contact the pet owner and seek veterinary care if necessary. Owners are responsible for any veterinary expenses incurred.

Policies Regarding Fleas, Ticks, and Other Parasites

  - Each pet will be inspected for fleas, ticks, and other parasites before grooming. If an infestation is found, we will contact the owner to discuss treatment options.

  - Pets with fleas or ticks will be treated with flea and tick shampoo at an additional cost. Severe infestations may require the pet to be treated at home before rescheduling the grooming appointment.

Refusal of Service

  - Le Puppery reserves the right to refuse service to pets with untreated parasite infestations to prevent contamination of our mobile grooming unit and other pets.

Owner Responsibilities

  - It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure their pet is free from parasites before the grooming appointment. Regular use of flea and tick preventatives is recommended.

By adhering to these Health and Safety policies, we aim to provide a safe, clean, and stress-free grooming experience for your pet. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
